When to Buy a Custom Holster I see this question a lot:  How do I know if I need to buy a Custom Holster? As customizing your Carry Gun becomes less a Hobby and more like a Competition, the demand for Custom Holsters is increasing. But what if your Firearm isn't as customized as those Agency Arms Glock 19s you see all over Instagram? What if you only have an Extended Magazine or a Light Attachment? Do you still need a Custom Holster? The answer isn't necessarily simple, as there are many different reasons for buying a holster that is custom, made to order. Here are a few of those reasons... Click on the image to enlarge it.   The red lines indicate the top of the belt for each ride height. The black block indicates the belt for a mid ride height (most common). As you can see, the straight draw and forward cant angles work well with each ride height. Where we run into trouble, is the greater reverse cant angles. The 22.5° and 30° reverse cant angles should not be paired with a low ride, ever- unless you want your grip buried in your waistline, and should only be paired with a mid ride if you are fully aware of where your grip will sit. Half of the grip could be potentially in your waistline with a mid ride and greater reverse cant angle, so choose with caution and train with the holster often. We chose a Glock 19 for the illustration due to it's popularity. Some firearms have different grip structure and/or different grip angles, so actual product's ride height and cant angles may slightly vary.

Dara Holster is now offering race rig packages. Their two new rigs are called the Action Sport race rig, and the Elite Action Sport race rig. The difference between the two lie in the three magazine carriers included in the package. In the Action Sport package, regular single magazine carriers are offered. In the Elite Action Sport package they are offering three single magazine carriers with an adjustable can system (pictured below). As you can see in the picture, there is a curved slit on the inside of the magazine carrier where the screw can be loosened with a Philips head screw driver and then the mag carrier adjusted. Dara Holsters & Gear is now offering their widely anticipated Custom Kydex Race Holster. This holsters are made from .125" thick Black Kydex, and fastened with rust proof Melonite coated hardened steel hardware. Each holster and/or magazine carrier comes with an adjustable military grade rubber retention system built in. The minimum slide coverage offered is 1" as to retain proper stability when the firearm is holstered.   Race belts are not yet included in the deal, however they will be offered as a package soon. Since our firearm collection is about 90% blue guns now a days, we had to borrow a VP9 for the picture.
