Holsters for Smith and Wesson Shield

We offer many holsters for the popular Smith and Wesson Shield, the most popular choice being our Custom Kydex IWB Holster. I'll share with you the options we offer, the recommended specs for each holster, and then our most popular rigs sold for the Shield.

First up we've got the Custom Kydex Tuckable IWB Holster.

This holster allows the carrier to tuck their shirt in over their holstered weapon. There is a .093" thick Kydex plate that attaches to the bottom of the holster which keeps the shirt material tucked in nicely. The clip is located at the top of the plate for a discreet and secure point of attachment.

There are many different custom options available for the tuckable kydex holster, such as varying draw hands and positions, colors, cant angles and ride heights. Over 225 firearms are offered for this holster, as well as 82 light/laser attachments.

Next, we've got the Custom Kydex IWB Holster.

The standard Kydex IWB Holster is the most popular choice for the Smith and Wesson Shield. Out of all the custom options we offer, a black, right handed IWB holster with a 7.5° forward cant will pop up on our order page at least 10-15 times a day.

The picture shown above features a holster for the Smith and Wesson Shield with a Viridian R5 attachment. There is a 7.5° forward cant angle for comfort and ease of access during the draw, and a mid ride height. these are the most popular specs for all standard IWB Holsters.

Another great option is the Custom Small of Back IWB Holster.

This holster is becoming increasingly more popular in recent months. We offer two carry options for the Small of Back or SOB holster- SOB Palm In (with the back of your hand facing away from you during the draw) and SOB Palm Out (with the back of your hand against your back during draw.)

For Small of Back Palm In, we recommend a 15°-30° forward cant and mid to high ride height. This  is the most comfortable way to carry for the Small of Back Palm In position. The ride height allows you to sit for extended periods of time without discomfort and the draw is quick and easy thanks to the exaggerated forward cant angle.

For the Small of Back Palm Out position we recommend a 7.5°-15° reverse cant angle and a mid to high ride height. Customers can also order a Tuckable version of the Small of Back Holster by modifying a Custom Tuckable IWB Holster for Small of Back Carry.

For the Range, we offer a Custom Kydex OWB Holster.

The above picture is an OWB Holster for the Smith and Wesson Shield. The Holster comes with a loop, paddle or double loop belt attachment. Shown above is our older style paddles, our newer updated paddle is shown below.

As you may be able to see, the newer paddles offer two separate points of attachment to the belt for a more secure hold. Whereas our previous design had a lip at the bottom to catch the belt.

The OWB Holster is a great idea for those who like to go to the range and play around or those who like to open carry. While we do not get many Outside the Waistband Holster orders for the Smith and Wesson Shield, when we do they are nearly always black, with a 7.5°-15° forward cant and mid ride.

Our most highly recommended belt attachment is the loop for all OWB Holsters.

If you are considering a laser attachment for your Smith and Wesson Shield, we highly recommend getting the Viridian R5 Reactor:

We offer Enhanced Combat Readiness (ECR) with every holster we have. ECR is delivered by a (ni) plated N48 grade Neodymium magnet permanently attached to the inside of your holster using Melonite finished hardened steel hardware. It allows the laser to be automatically turned on when drawing your firearm. Available only with Viridian ECR capable lasers.
