The Trijicon RMR is by far the most commonly used of red dot sights mounted to the top of most pistol slides. There is some controversy surrounding the topic of whether or not you should train using a red dot sight for self defense purposes, but there is no denying the advantage of using a red dot sight when putting in some range time.

The Red Dot sight takes some getting used to when first trying it out, but once you train your eyes to acquire the target and let the red dot settle where your target is, instead of looking at the red dot first, you'll be hitting small targets at 100+ yards in no time.

To install the RMR, you'll need to find a company to mill out your slide. I used GlockMeister when I installed my RMR. It was $120 for the service, and worth every penny. They were pleasant to work with, did a fantastic job and got my slide to me in less time than what was listed.

Adding an optic to your pistol means that you'll have to eventually find a holster to accommodate it. There are certain holsters, like the Dara RMR Cut OWB Holster that is designed specifically for the Trijicon RMR. Other holsters, such as our Action Sport Holster, featuring an ejection port cut out for quick draw and fast target acquisition, will also accommodate any common Red Dot Sight.
