.45 ACP Concealed Carry Guns Under $700

List of Concealed Carry Guns under $700

in .45 ACP

In the next couple of weeks we will be publishing a few lists of the top concealed carry handguns under $700 according to their calibers. This week is the .45 caliber list. Each gun in the list is under $700, and prices can drop as low as $100 under what's listed here.

Springfield Armory XDS 3.3 in .45 ACP $669

XDS 3.3 .45 Measurements, xds 3.3 size, xds size, .45 carry pistol,

Round Capacity:  5+1 Single Stack
Weight:  21.5 oz. unloaded
Notes: Heavy recoil. Not a lot of aftermarket add-ons. Forged Steel slide with Melonite coating. Loaded chamber indicator on the top of the slide. When there is a round in the chamber, the indicator extends upward, making it easy to confirm the firearms' status. Aggressive texture on the grip, known to be too rough for some. Comes with interchangeable back straps.
Safeties: Comes with three safety systems, the Ultra Assurance -USA- Trigger System (which prevents accidental discharge when on), the grip safety (which prevents the shooter from firing unless they have a sure grip), and a Fail-Safe Disassembly Safety. You cannot insert a magazine whilst the firearm is disassembled and likewise cannot disassemble the gun while the magazine is inserted.
Trigger: Double Action Only. Smooth trigger pull with short reset.
Holster: Easily available at most retailers

Springfield Armory XD Mod 2 $500

Springfield XD Mod 2 Measurements, XD Mod 2 size

Round Capacity: Double Stack 9+1 or extended mag 13+1
Weight: 26 oz. unloaded.
Notes: Hard recoil due to higher bore axis. The new "grip zone" allows you to hold this sub compact as comfortably as a full size service weapon, with different levels of texture in each "zone". Comes with a 9rnd and a 13rnd magazine.
Trigger: Snappier than the XDS 3.3 in .45 with a 5.5-7.7 lb trigger pull.
Holster: Still a newer firearm, may not be able to find as many options as the XDS 3.3.

Glock 30s $539

Glock 30s Measurements, glock 30s size, glock 30s

Round Capacity: 10+1 Double Stack
Weight: 22.95 oz unloaded
Notes: A marriage between two preexisting Glocks, the 30SF and 36, the 30s has a slimmer slide than the 30SF and a better round capacity than the 36. Reduced recoil compared to other firearms of similar size/caliber.
Safeties: Trigger Safety- Both the trigger safety and the trigger have to be pulled to fire. Firing Pin Safety- Spring loaded firing pin safety projects into the firing pin channel and mechanically blocks the firing pin from moving forward. When the trigger is pulled a vertical extension of the trigger bar pushes the firing pin safety upwards, clearing the channel.  Drop Safety- The rear part of the trigger bar rests with both arms on the drop safety. When the trigger's pulled, the trigger bar begins to move down off until finally separating from the firing pin lug. During the slide cycling process, the trigger bar is lifted and caught by the firing pin lug. The trigger bar is reengaged by the firing pin lug.
Trigger: 5.5 lb trigger pull, which can be modified to 4 lbs.
Holster: I'd wager that half the holster companies out there have this make.

Glock 36 $550

Glock 36 Measurements, glock 36, glock 36 size, glock 36 size comparison

Round Capacity: 6+1 Single Stack
Weight: 22.42 oz unloaded
Notes: Reliable. Low recoil due to lower bore axis. Thin, narrow grip. Easy to disassemble and clean.
Trigger: 5.5 lbs, can be modified.
Holster: Easily found.

Kahr CM45 $450

Round Capacity: 5+1, extended mags available
Weight: 19.3 oz unloaded
Notes: Hard to find any reviews. So far I have heard they are reliable and will shoot anything you put through it. Kahr "suggests" a 200 round break in period, which should be required.
Safeties: No manual safety.
Trigger: DAO, long trigger pull.
Holster: Easily found.

*The estimated costs are taken from retail websites selling these firearms new. You may be able to find them significantly cheaper used or at a gun show.
