Our standard IWB Kydex Holster offer many custom options that can be overwhelming to a new carrier. Take a moment to consider the position that you'd like to carry in. Appendix carry is considered the 12-2 o'clock (10-12 o'clock for left hand) position, inside your hip area. Strongside carry (or Right or Left handed) is considered 3-4/5 o'clock (6/7-9 o'clock for left hand), and Small of Back or S.O.B. Holsters are eant for the 5-6 o'clock (6-7 o'clock for left hand) position. Once you have determined your carry position, your other options seem less daunting.

After you have selected your holster position, select your cant angle. A forward cant tilts the grip forward for an easier draw whilst carrying strongside or Small of Back Palm In. A straight draw is a good choice for any position, it's the reverse cant that can be tricky. A reverse cant holster is best for Appendix Holsters and Small of Back Palm Out Holsters. The reverse cant will tilt the muzzle forward. If carrying Appendix, the reverse cant will have the slide of the gun following the line of your groin and avoid any unneccesary poking in the gut or leg while sitting or bending.

Another custom option to consider is the ride height. Our most common ride height for Strongside carry is a mid ride height. For appendix carry we recommend a higher ride height when coupled with a reverse cant angle so that your grip does not become buried and the weapon will bend with you as you bend forward. Same for Small of Back Holsters. Keep in mind a low ride height may bury your grip.
